An exceptional example of ornate Victorian fireplace design from the late Victorian era. Supporting the substantial moulded shelf, a central panel on the frieze depicts a quiver and arrows set amongst rosebuds, ribbons, insects, and trailing leaves. Stylised floral palmette corner blocks sit above intricate foliate capitals, tapering panelled jambs adorned with floral motifs and ribbons, and a finely carved entwined stem moulding around the opening.
